Responsabilidade Ambiental

More sustainable future

We are responsible for a more sustainable future. We take over our environmental responsibility through a set of individual and collective attitudes towards the sustainable development of the planet. Our objective is that these attitudes be make part of an economical growth adjusted to the environment protection and to the consequent preservation of the natural resources for the current and future generations.

Know some of these actions:

– VERA PROJECT
The VERA project (Steam, Power, Cooling and Water) has as main objective the conscious use of resources described by the project name itself. The initiative emerged in Frisa® unit in Nanuque (Minas Gerais) and was later implemented in other units – Colatina (ES), Teixeira de Freitas (BA) and Niterói (RJ) – to power up the action of employees for the sake of the environment.

– WATER REUSE
In order to contribute to the environment and water conservation, we implemented a project for water reuse.
This action minimizes the impact on the environment, since it is a way to reuse water, a precious and limited resource. Furthermore, we save energy and avoid waste of chemicals used in water treatment.

– LIQUID AND SOLID WASTE TREATMENT
Waste coming from meatpacking and industrial production are properly treated in anaerobic lagoons, respecting all environmental regulations that guarantee the preservation of the environment in which we operate. In this process, there is also the separation of solid waste, which is collected by companies authorized by the competent authorities to carry them.

– REFORESTATION WOOD AND BIOMASSA
The wood used in furnaces to generate steam comes from reforestation (eucalyptus). In addition to the wood, another factor that contributes to reduce the environmental impact is the use of the biomass to heat up boilers.

– REDUCTION OF POLLUTANT PARTICLES EMISSION
Our fleet of trucks is fueled with Diesel S-10, which has fewer sulphur particles, a substance that damages the air and health of people and animals, besides being less pollutant than Diesel S-50, mainly in relation to the emission of particulate materials.
