Currently, Frisa® has four strategically located production units that service the domestic market and over 60 countries around the world, with a wide range of products manufactured with extreme quality by 2,918 employees who are part of this huge family.

Larger production

The meatpacking plant of Nanuque (MG) receives modern freezing systems that expand their production and storage capacity.

Bean Steak – Grã Filé

Within the prices blocked by the federal government and the need to strengthen the brand presence in strategic markets, Frisa® launches the Bean Steak – Grã Filé, which subsequently would become the market leader hamburger segment.

Other units

In 1980, Frisa® acquires the industrial plant of Niterói (Rio de Janeiro) and in the next year, it begins to build huge freezing chambers. In the same year, it takes over the control of meatpacking units in Nanuque (MG) and Teixeira the Freitas (BA).

Enlargement

The company keeps focused on increasing the freezing chambers to meet the growth in the volume of daily slaughters and begins a study to build a cannery factory focused on the production of meat food to service the domestic market.

Expansion

Focused on the expansion of markets, Frisa® is responsible for the first export of frozen meat of Espírito Santo. The load was transported from Colatina (ES) to Vitória (ES) in trunk trucks, going to Greece in the cargo ship Penélope II.

The beginning

The history of Frisa® begins in the 1960s, in the city of Colatina, Espírito Santo. On November 5,1968, a group of businessmen established the Frigorífico Rio Doce S.A.
